Apple
The apple is the fruit of Malus communis, a tree in the Rosaceae family, with stemmed leaves and more or less spherical fruit that varies from yellow or red to green, with firm and crisp to floury flesh, depending on the variety.
Apples ripen between late August and mid-October, depending on the variety, and they can be stored for long periods in air-conditioned chambers and released onto the market gradually throughout the year. The apple is actually the least seasonal fruit, thanks to its ability to last for months.
CURIOSITY
Like the pear, quince and loquat, the apple is a false fruit, in which the fleshy part is actually the infructescence and the true fruit is the core.
